This is a story about two brothers, Alwood and Henry Dogwood, who have not seen nor talked to each other in over fifty years. Two men, brothers, but as different as night and day. Parted so many years ago in bitter hatred. It is also the story of a legendary silver statue, lost in the great north woods of New Hampshire over three hundred years ago. This statue, known as the Silver Madonna, would bring the brothers together again. In fact it would join two parts of a family together for the first time. There is high adventure, great danger, and mysterious characters, including a man in a skeleton like iron cage, who is more machine then man, and has the strength of ten strong men. There is a gang of murderous thugs who must find the statue at all cost because their boss, known only as The Man, has ordered them to do so without fail. The Man does not except failure.
