Twelve-year-old Carl Stone and his close friends are not looking forward to another dull school year. But all of that is about to change. When a transfer student, Jade Templeton, joins their group and a quirky language arts teacher, Ms. Spencer, crosses their path, they stumble into a mystery. An encounter with strange beams of light convinces Carl that there is something weird about their new teacher. No one believes him. But when his friends begin to notice other peculiar incidences linked to this teacher, their lives are sent into a tailspin.
