Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was a British author and poet. He is best known for The Jungle Book (1894), Kim (1901), many short stories and poems. He is regarded as a major innovator in the art of the short story, and his children's books are enduring classics of children's literature. The Just So Stories are highly fantasized origin stories and are among Kipling's best known works.
