Blanche Willis Howard, Baronness von Teufel (1847-1898) was an American author who went to Germany in 1877 to write travel articles for the Boston Evening Transcript. She settled in Stuttgart and opened a finishing school for girls. She wrote 14 books, and was an accomplished pianist.
