Stanley John Weyman (1855-1928) was an English novelist sometimes referred to as the "Prince of Romance" and admired by Robert Louis Stevenson, Oscar Wilde, and Graham Greene. 1908's The Wild Geese was to have been Weyman's last novel but he added The Great House in 1919 and Ovington's Bank in 1922.
