Tullamarine Writers Association was formed in November 2013, following an initiative by the president and founder, Gen Dinsmore, to apply for a Hume Community Grant. Gen was inspired to start a local writing group with the simple aim of bringing together like-minded people willing to share their love and passion for writing. The group meets on the third Saturday of the month at the local Tullamarine Library. Members take it in turn to provide an inspirational quote and choose a homework writing topic. There is time for each person to present their stories as well as work on individual writing projects. Constructive, positive feedback also helps members grow and gain confidence in their writing talents. Members have appreciated the stimulating, fruitful and encouraging environment where writing strengths, weaknesses, new ideas and insights are shared and nurtured. TWA meetings provide the inspiration for participants to regularly commit themselves to the written word.
