In 1999, I began writing a newsletter (e-zine), and sending it out via e-mail. Since it dealt with philosophy and literature, I called it Phlit. One might describe my newsletter as "philosophy in the present tense," since it not only sets forth ideas, but also describes their origin -- the book or discussion or TV show that started me thinking. In this book, pieces from my newsletter are arranged by subject, not by publication date.
