Bifurcation Theory in Finite Dimensions William Dean Stone This text covers the theory and tools to analyze changes in long-term behavior of solutions to differential equations and iterative problems. Although much of the theory is the same for infinite dimensional problems, this book allows students with a background in linear algebra but not functional analysis to understand and use bifurcation theory. Bill Stone has been a member of the New Mexico Tech Department of Mathematics for many years. This book developed from notes for a graduate level bifurcation theory course he teaches at New Mexico Tech.
