The body of a young woman is discovered with the back of her head caved in and one of Ted's business cards in her pocket. Dismissed as another sad statistic of youth wasted on the street, Ted is haunted by the murder after discovering in the morgue that she was a young man on his way to becoming a woman. The pieces of a troubled life in which the victim was both rejected by his family and its sole means of support propels Ted through the glitter clubs of Houston, to the televised arena of one of the city's fastest growing mega churches, where he takes on its charismatic religous leader who has tapped the mother load of fund raising in 1-800-FORGIVE.
