Part of my mission is to recognise in our African world the existence of what I call the deep dance, the dance of planets and of the revolution.' Nwankwo is a Nigerian poet, critic and professor of literature. He has penned several volumes of poetry including Toward the Area Zone (1988) for which he won The Association of Nigerian Authors' Poetry Prize, and a critical study of the works of Ngugi wa Thiong'o.
