Pomparles Writers, all from Mid-Somerset, have been writing short stories under the guidance of their mentor and editor of this collection, Jeanie Balch. They have all have taken up fiction-writing in retirement and enjoy it enough to read out loud their offerings and accept constructive criticisms and suggestions. This is an eclectic selection of their work. PHIL WELCH, editor of Mid Somerset News and Media, writes of the anthology:, "A creeping fear afflicts many older people as they approach retirement.
