Former diplomat Sir Miles Griffin is driven by an obsession to avenge the killing of his family by the US Army in Iraq while he was serving at the British Embassy there. He is commander of the European cell of Al- Qaeda. Under his direction the terrorists gain control of Sky-Eye, a spacecraft parked in deep space and stacked with nuclear missiles, which they intend using for revenge and extortion by hitting US military targets. However, all efforts to obtain Sky-Eye's firing codes fail, and Griffin blackmails a homosexual engineer to sabotage a satellite's testing at a UK company forcing them to request help from Frank Adams an English spacecraft engineer living in Canada.
