The report covers recent developments in the chemistry and technology of epoxy resins, concentrating primarily on material published in the last six years, i.e. since the subject was last covered in the Rapra Review Report series. The author reviews the synthesis, manufacture and characterisation of epoxy monomers, cure reactions of epoxy resins, spectroscopic and analytical methods of studying cure, techniques for the modelling of cure, the use of additives and modifiers, and technologically driven advances in applications. Extensive literature references are provided throughout the review, which is published together with the results of an extensive search of the Polymer Library.
