George Washington was born to Augustine and Mary, both of whom were orphans. Augustine father brought children from an earlier marriage, making this a blended family. Augustine died when George was a tender age of eleven. For several years after that he was raised by a single mother. George left home to live with Lawrence, his half-brother. George's childhood gives way to that of a young man seasoned by the Godly influence of his family.
