When oceanographic engineer and inventor Michael Royle wakes up after an emergency surgery he's convinced that the California hospital he's in is out to kill him. After a frantic call to his wife, strange things happen. Staff members have mysterious conversations outside his hospital room, a nurse raps on the wall of his room as if in some sort of code, and his doctor seems incredibly untrustworthy. Convinced he's just going insane, Michael becomes the center of a drug intersect taking place within the hospital. Special Agent Don Morgan needs Michael and his new invention to get in the way of a drug transaction in the waters between California and Mexico. As his family is moved for protection, Michael learns that he's gotten himself in pretty deep.
