The federal deficit has skyrocketed since Obama took office in January 2009. The annual federal budget deficit under George Bush, so assaulted by the progressive Left and the liberal media, has more than tripled under Barack Obama. The rising budget deficits cause a geometric increase in the total national debt. In other words, the amount of debt is increasing at a faster and faster rate. It reminds me of the stuck accelerator problem that causes automobiles to go faster and faster, out of control. Without corrective action, at some point a tremendous crash is inevitable. The notion that it is necessary to spend more money to get out of debt, as postulated by the progressive liberals of the Left, is so ludicrous that only someone deluded or devoid of logic would buy it. Similar to the mistakes of the 1930s, the economy is hindered by the continuing efforts of the government to fix it. At least Roosevelt's massive spending then gave us a few tangible things, such as the Hoover Dam.
