Peter Stonewall lives in the town of Dullsville. Dullsville is a regular place filled with regular people. Peter, like most folks in Dullsville, lives his life never expecting anything out of the ordinary to happen. But Dullsville is about to have a visitor who is anything but ordinary. One day as Peter is jogging in the town square, he notices a mysterious man carrying a duffel bag. Each day Peter returns to the square to exercise, he sees the man helping others. The man, whom Peter calls the Bag Man, intervenes in a fight between a father and son, comforts a woman crying near the square's fountain, and even provides clothes for a homeless man. After seeing the Bag Man perform these miracles, Peter is determined to talk to him and find out why he spends so much time helping other people.
