When she heard the cry of life and felt that tiny, perfect being placed into her arms, her heart briefly stopped. The wonder she had dreamt about, the awe she had anticipated, was totally overshadowed by this moment of elation. The feeling was engulfing. Sarah's heart broke after her first love was killed in the Vietnam War. Not sure she would ever find true love again, Sarah wandered through life, trying to keep a safe distance from others. Finally she took the plunge and married, and even though marriage never brought the real connection she was looking for, it did bring her the true happiness and love she had always sought.
