A normal group of kids from a poor neighborhood, looking for something to do during summer break from school, stumble on a secret cave under an old mill house. They quickly discover that the cave contains a fortune in Civil War gold, thought to be lost forever. Driven by a desire to use the treasure to do good in the world, the kids must claim the gold for themselves. In order to stake their claim, The Sweet Street Gang will have to overcome numerous obstacles: booby traps, snakes, an underground river, and even criminals seeking the same treasure. Through it all, they rely on the advice and teachings of their dedicated Youth Leader to show them the way.
