James Carson Elliott (1845-1936) was born in Cleveland County, N. C.. He apparently recorded the events in his life and did some writing as he grew older. His main literary contribution was The Southern Soldier Boy written in 1907 in which he intimately describes his life and events as a soldier in the Confederate Army.
