The middlings alone is seldom found on the market unmixed but with varying proportions of hulls. It is noted from the table that its variation in quality is great. Woll estimates that a mixture of half hulls and half middlings is worth about 20 per cent less than wheat bran. The better grades are usually sold at a reasonable price. As the output of buckwheat feeds are limited they are usually disposed of locally. This increases the importance of knowing their composition since a given output may be disposed of before an inspection can be made.
