The superphosphates have been arranged with reference to the crude stock from which they were made. Those from bone black and bone ash being in the first table, and those from South Carolina rock and similar mineral phosphates in the second. The phosphoric acid in dissolved bone black, and bone ash is, as a rule, almost entirely soluble in water. It is not liable to changes through reversion, and, consequently, these superphosphates seldom fall below their guarantees. Mineral phosphates, on the other hand, contain considerable socalled reverted phosphoric acid. A difference of opinion exists as to what shall be understood by this term.
