In 1849 Karl Marx moved to London, where he would remain based for much of his life attempting to organize the revolution of the working class there. In the early 1850s Marx and his family lived in extreme poverty, largely they relied on the aid of Friedrich Engels, whose father was a wealthy German cotton manufacturer. In order to provide some income Marx began writing for six different newspapers around the world. The predominance of this journalism would be as a European correspondent for the "New York Daily Tribune." At first Marx's writing would require the use of a translator however after time he would become proficient enough to have written the articles in English himself. His articles span the gamut of foreign affairs. Revolutions in China and Europe, British politics and society, economics and finance, India and imperialism, and America and slavery are all topics that are discussed within this incredible collection of Karl Marx's contributions to the "New York Tribune."...
