Melvin Linwood Severy (1863-1951) was an American engineer, musician, inventor and author. He invented the Choralcelo, an electro magnetic organ. His works include: Fleur-de-Lis and Other Stories (1889), The Darrow Enigma (1904), The Mystery of June 13 (1905) and Maitland's Master Mystery (1912).
