Jean Froissart (c. 1337-c. 1406) was one of the most important of the chroniclers of medieval France. For centuries, Froissart's Chronicles have been recognized as the chief expression of the chivalric revival of the 14th century Kingdom of England and France. Very little is known of Froissart's life and the little that is known comes mainly from Froissart's own Chronicle and his poems. Sir Thomas Malory (c. 1405-1471) was an English writer, the author or compiler of Le Morte d'Arthur. Few facts are certain in Malory's history. Twice elected to a seat in Parliament, he also accrued a long list of criminal charges during the 1450s. William Harrison (1534-1593) was an English clergyman, whose Description of England was produced as part of the publishing venture of a group of London stationers who produced Raphael Holinshed's Chronicles (1577).
