Professor Douglas Wilson Johnson (1878-1944) wrote Plain Words from America: A Letter to a German Professor (1917). The letter written by Professor Johnson, of Columbia University, is in reply to a letter, pleading the cause of Germany, which he received from a German correspondent. It appeared in the "Revue de Paris" in September, 1916.
