During the mid-1970s and early 1980's Newark-on-Trent was primarily home to heavy-rock and club-circuit covers bands. Then came punk: unruly street kids with little to no musical ability who, much to the annoyance of many, proceeded to assault the eardrums as they unashamedly belted out their own brand of alternative noise. It was 1979: punk and all its ugliness had finally arrived in Newark-on-Trent. 34 years on: forgotten bands, unheard demos and hazy memories of a music genre, ignored by many. `Mohawks and Mohicans` documents these bands ensuring that they are never forgotten. The book includes many unseen photos.
