It is established by the Lopez and Central CATV group of companies, and one of ABS-CBN Corporation subsidiaries. In January 1990, SkyCable was founded and started its CATV operation on January 26, 1992 and rolled out 8,500 miles of fiber optic cables. In 1995, SkyCable grew its subscriber base to 20,000 subscribers. In 2006, it launched Silver Prepaid, the first prepaid cable TV service in the Philippines and expanded its business by venturing into Internet and VoIP services in 2008.
