It encompasses over 300 square miles (780 km2), covering virtually all of the western half of the county, with Newport School District, Greenwood School District, and Susquenita School District located in the more populated east. Students who live in the Horse Valley section of Toboyne Township in the far western part of the county attend Fannett-Metal School District in Franklin County.
