On November 24, 2012 John Evans escorted the four Buena Vista Demon captains onto the field where he would call the coin toss for them. It was fitting. Evans was the first captain of the first Demon team in 1939 and here he was, calling the toss for the seventh state championship game by his old high school and the first in town since 1979. This publication is a history of those years from 1939 through the title game in 2012. It is a keepsake, a booklet that every BVHS fan will want to have for the memories, the pictures and the history.
