This is a story about the life of a man, born in 1932 in Communist Russia, who learned many languages and risked everything to apply to emigrate to the United States at the height of the Cold War. Bringing his family and his intellect, he survived the emigration process and became a successful physician and community activist in the US. It is a story of communism, escape, family - and as the title indicates: perseverance and fate.
