A 15 year old farm boy leaves his home in Minnesota to become a cowboy in Montana. The year is 1900. For the next 25 years the boy becomes a cowboy who returns as a man to Minnesota to care for his aged parents. The man marries, has six children spanning 30 years, all with the same wife. This is his story as told to the author through the telling of stories interwoven through the author's brief time with him.
