This is a personal ccount of an early Georgia pioneer. Born a British citizen, he witnessed the effects of the American Revolution. He grew up in a young America, and participated in its early formation. Zadock served the state of Georgia in several governmental capacities, including U.S. Congressman. His life extended into the administration of our sixteenth President, Abraham Lincoln. At the time of Zadock's death, Georgia had seceded from the Union. This diary chronicles the amazing time during which Zadock watched his state and his country grow.
