Andrew Philip Mehrtens MNZM (born 28 April 1973 in Durban, South Africa) is a New Zealand rugby union footballer, currently playing and coaching in France for Beziers, a club in the second-level Pro D2 league. He has been one of the top Fly-halfs in the world since the advent of the sport's professional era in the mid-1990s, having retired from international play as the all-time leading point scorer for the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks (a record since surpassed by Dan Carter). He played first for Canterbury in 1993, before being selected for the All Blacks (New Zealand's national team) in 1995 when he played in the 1995 World Cup. With the advent of professionalism he joined the Canterbury Crusaders in 1996 for the new Super 12 competition.
