Stanley Lalit Kumar "Stan" Flemming (born March 30, 1953) is a retired United States Army General, statesman, osteopathic physician, educator, and humanitarian. Currently, he represents the 7th District as a Pierce County Councilman. In his military career, he was a two time combat veteran and was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General almost twenty years to the date of receiving his second commission as an officer in the Army and later appointed Ambassador. Flemming is a board certified Family Medicine physician who has worked in private practice, public health, health insurance, health policy, and academic medicine.
