The Mainz Carnival (Mainzer Fastnacht,„Maanzer Fassenacht" or „Meenzer Fassenacht") is a months-long city-wide carnival celebration in Mainz, Germany that traditionally begins on 11 November but culminates in the days before Ash Wednesday in the spring.
