The group's discography includes four studio albums, four live albums, eleven compilation albums, two extended plays, twenty-four singles and one re-issue. The group was formed by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Drew Barfield, lead guitarist Gary Howard, bassist Stuart Watt and drummer Chris Bolton in London, England in 1975. Three of the group's members (Barfield, Howard and Watt) originally formed the low-profile group Terra Nova in 1974, who released only three singles and only one album. When the group were joined by Bolton they made an ultimate transformation into the commercially successful Moving Vehicles.
