Mujahid Kamran (born:January 23, 1951), is a Pakistani theoretical physicist and the current Vice-Chancellor of the Punjab University (PU) of Lahore, Punjab. He is the Professor of physics and, had previously served as the Chairman of the Physics Department at the University of the Punjab (1995–2001 and January 2007-January 2008). From 2004-2007, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Science at the same institution. In January 2008, he was appointed as Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University by the Governor of Punjab, Lieutenant-General (retired) Khalid Maqbool, on the recommendation of a Search Committee. Kamran joined the university of the Punjab as lecturer in 1972, became assistant professor in 1982, associate professor in 1987 and professor in 1988.
