Employers may distribute personnel selection tests within the scope of background checks that are used to assess the ability of the potential employee to score within a desirable range of integrity. The integrity tests are administered to assess whether the honesty of the potential candidate is acceptable in respect to theft and counterproductive behavior. These tests may weigh in on the final personnel decisions. Actions such as theft and counterproductive measures from various past employment affect the score an employee would obtain from the integrity test. The likelihood of those behaviors would be predictive through test questions set up to assess such behaviors on employer distributed tests such as the Reid Report, and the Stanton Survey.
