High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! H2O is an Indian bilingual film (Kannada and Tamil) released in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in 2002. It was also later dubbed into Telugu. The script, story, screenplay, dialogue and lyrics of the film were penned by the Kannada cinema superstar Upendra. Although N Lokanath and Rajaram were credited as directors, there have been strong rumours that the entire film's direction unit was under Upendra's control. The film starred Upendra, Prabhu Deva and Priyanka Upendra in the lead roles. The movie was a Metaphorical Dramatization of the century old Kaveri River water dispute between the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and was released when tensions were high between the two states over the matter. Upon release, it turned out to be highly controversial, as it fell into controversies regarding the usage of Tamil language and the presence of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) flags in many scenes.
