Little Fuzhou (???, ????), or Fujiantown, a prime destination status for immigrants from the Fujian Province of China, is a neighborhood in the Chinatown and Lower East Side areas of the borough of Manhattan in New York City in the United States. The term is now also being used to describe a similar neighborhood developing rapidly in the adjacent borough of Brooklyn. Manhattan's Little Fuzhou is centered around the street of East Broadway, which begins at Chatham Square (also known as Kimlau Square) and runs eastward under the Manhattan Bridge, continues past Seward Park and the eastern end of Canal Street, and ends at Grand Street. The neighborhood is named for the western portion of the street, which is primarily populated by mainland Chinese immigrants, (primarily Foochowese from Fuzhou, Fujian), while the smaller, eastern portion has traditionally been home to a large number of Jews, while now receiving Chinese immigration as well....
