The school district includes all of Alexandria borough, Petersburg borough, Barree Township, Logan Township, West Township, Morris Township and Spruce Creek township. The district encompasses approximately 125 square miles. According to 2000 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 5,334. According to District officials, in school year 2007-08 the JVSD provided basic educational services to 833 pupils through the employment of 72 teachers, 37 full-time and part-time support personnel, and 5 administrators.
