Pandit Ravishankar Shukla (Hindi: ????? ??????? ?????, 2 August 1877, Sagar – 31 December 1956, Delhi ) was a leader of the Indian National Congress, Indian independence movement activist, the Premier of the Central Provinces and Berar from 27 April 1946 to 25 January 1950, the first Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh state from 26 January 1950 to 31 October 1956 and then the first chief minister of the reorganized Madhya Pradesh state, the largest state of India, consisting of Mahakoshal, Madhya Bharat, Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh from 1 November 1956 till his death on 31 December 1956. He is noted for his exuberant personality, range of interests and achievements, and his leadership of the Freedom Movement, as well as his "Grand Old Man" persona and robust masculinity.
