For the first time in eight seasons, the Suns will be without the play of power forward Amar'e Stoudemire, a 5-time All-Star and former Rookie of the Year who joined the New York Knicks in the summer before the season's start. The Suns would be without another star player, when on December 18, 2010, Jason Richardson was part of a trade that involved Vince Carter coming to the Suns. Another trade would occur on February 24, 2011 would involve trading away Goran Dragic and the draft pick they got earlier from Orlando in exchange for Aaron Brooks.
