He was a jobber in the light heavyweight division for 20 years beginning in 1990 and retiring in 2009. He had an incredible chin only being knocked out 33 times in his 166 loss career. He was used to stretch out young fighters moving up in the light heavyweight ranks and provide a good warm up for veteran fighters between big fights. He fought such contenders and champions as Shannon Briggs, Montell Griffin, Ray Lathon, Anwar Oshana, Juan Carlos Gomez, Dale Brown, Mario Veit, Fred Moore, Robin Reid, Darrin Morris, Thomas Ulrich, Ruslan Chagaev, Reggie Strickland, Rob Calloway, Anthony Bonsante, Rydell Booker, Jean Pascal, Mike Mollo, Thompson Garcia, Dhafir Smith, Chris Lytle, Maurice Brantley, LaVerne Clark, William Guthrie and Thomas Hayes.
