Bazan, MD, PhD is a neuroscientist and vision/ophthalmology researcher who focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, aiming to understand endogenous modulation of neuroinflammatory signaling using cellular, molecular, and disease models as well as lipidomics. He is currently the Director of the Neuroscience Center of Excellence, School of Medicine, at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Bazan currently is jointly appointed to LSUHSC Departments of Ophthalmology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Neurology, and holds the Chair for the LSUHSC Executive Research Council, Translational Research Initiative.
