Fortuno is also the president of Puerto Rico's "Partido Nuevo Progresista (PNP)" (New Progressive Party), a member of the Republican National Committee, serves as president of the Council of State Governments during 2012 and served as president of the Southern Governors Association from 2011 to 2012.
