He was discovered by American talent manager Scooter Braun, who came across his videos on YouTube. Braun later arranged for him to meet with Usher in Atlanta where Bieber was soon signed to the Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, and then to a recording contract with Island Records offered by L.A. Reid. His first extended play, My World, was released on November 17, 2009. It made Bieber become the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100. The extended play was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Bieber's first full studio album, My World 2.0, was released on March 19, 2010.
