The club competed in the Combined Counties League Premier Division. The team started slowly but soon found consistent good form, maintaining an unbeaten run of 10 matches between 14 September and 9 November 2002 and undefeated in the last 16 league games of the season. The club ultimately finished 3rd in the league, only narrowly missing out on promotion to the Isthmian League Division One. Average home attendance at league fixtures exceeded 3,000 — higher than the average attendance in the same season of Wimbledon F.C., who were still playing in the First Division (now the Football League Championship).
