The Deak Ferenc Bilingual High School (in Hungarian Deak Ferenc Gimnazium) is a public, co-educational secondary school in Szeged, Hungary established in 1988 which makes it the youngest secondary educational institution in the city of Szeged; it is named after Ferenc Deak, a famous Hungarian 19th century politician who is also known as the „Sage of the Nation”. From the beginning, language education served as the main focus of the school in addition to its mission to provide a multifunctional place amidst its surroundings of panel housing estates, hence it leashes out the Theater Hall—which can be opened together with the Atrium—for various cultural programs. The school has been participating in the debate forum called European Classes since 1997, it is the member of the initiative PUSCH ("Schools: Partners of the future"), and that of the DSD program since 2008.
